If you wish to work in Cyprus for longer than three months, you should obtain the appropriate permit (residence) and register with the Census Records and Migration Department or with the Aliens and Migration Service of the police within three months. If you find employment, the statement of recruitment must be stamped by the Department of Labour of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance.

As a European citizen you can come to Cyprus without a contract of employment and spend three months looking for work. After finding employment you must register with the Census Records and Migration Department. If you have dependants with you, they also must register with the Census Records and Migration Department.

N.B. The above procedure is expected to be changed shortly for European citizens, who will need to register with the Census Records and Migration Department rather than obtain a residence permit.
